WHO ARE WE? A QUESTION TO MODERN DAY CHRISTIANITY
Shemoth (Exodus) 19:3 'And Mosheh went up to Elohim (God), and יהוה (Yahovah) called to him from the mountain, saying, “This is what you are to say to the house of Ya‛aqoḇ, and declare to the children of Yisra’ĕl: 4 ‘You have seen what I did to the Mitsrites (Egyptians), and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself.’ 5 And now, if you diligently obey My voice, and shall guard My covenant, then you shall be My treasured possession above all the peoples – for all the earth is Mine’ – 6 'and you shall be to Me a reign of priests and a set-apart nation.’ Those are the words which you are to speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl.” 7 And Mosheh came and called for the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which יהוה (Yahovah) commanded him. 8 And all the people answered together and said, “All that יהוה (Yahovah) has spoken we shall do.” So Mosheh brought back the words of the people to יהוה (Yahovah).
SO WHO ARE WE ?
It is a question that has come to my mind and has made me re-think who I am in the body of Yeshua Messiah (Jesus Christ). People who follow Jesus Christ are called "christian’s" and there are many denominations that claim to be within the body of Jesus Christ or of the Christian denomination people group, and they claim to worship the God that sent Jesus “Yeshua being His name in Hebrew”.
So is what we need to answer with scripture is the one question, what does Yahovah’s word say who His people are? He Yahovah is the Elohim (God) of scripture. The question that I have asked myself “Who Are We” has opened my eyes and has to lead me to know the truth of what scripture says who we are in the body of Yeshua Messiah in scripture (or Jesus the Christ) and who exactly are the people of Yahovah. Also what does it say in the Tanak (The Old Testament) who God's people are? because all that is stated in the haBrit haHadeshah (The New Testament) must be stated in the Tanak (The Old Testament). For nothing can change in the word of Yahovah our Elohim (God), and Yahovah our Elohim (God) does not change. We have to read His scripture or His Words to see what He says in regards to who His people are because Elohim’s Word does not change and He is truth.
Let's Keep this verse in mind as we read through the scriptures below, Yeshua (Jesus) of scripture stated and it was recorded by the taught one or the disciple Mathew
The Scriptures - International Scripture Research Version “ISR”
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 15:24 And He (Yeshua) answering, said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Yisra’ĕl.”
(Note: the ESV English Standard Version translates “except” as "only") so He Yeshua was “only” sent to the lost sheep of the house of Yisra’ĕl
Also Let’s keep in mind that the scripture we see below is specific instructions given by Yahovah to His people Yisra’ĕl in regards to changing His words. (Note: Yisra’ĕl is the people or the children of Yisra’ĕl in scripture not what we know today as Israel the State or Nation)
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 4:2 “Do not add to the Word which I command you, and do not take away from it, so as to guard the commands of יהוה (Yahovah) your Elohim (God) which I am commanding you.
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 12:32 All the words I am commanding you, guard to do it – do not add to it nor take away from it.
Mishlĕ (Proverbs) 30:6 Every Word of Eloah (God) is tried; He is a shield to those taking refuge in Him. 6 Do not add to His Words, Lest He reprove you, and you be found a liar.
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 40:8 “Grass shall wither, the flower shall fade, but the Word of our Elohim stands forever.”
Mal’aḵi (Malachi) 3:6 “For I am יהוה, I shall not change, and you, O sons of Ya‛aqoḇ, shall not come to an end.
Ḥazon (Revelation) 22:18 For I witness to everyone hearing the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to them, Elohim shall add to him the plagues that are written in this book, 19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, Elohim shall take away his part from the Book of life and out of the set-apart city, which are written in this Book.
So we see in the scripture's above that Yahovah the creator states clearly that, Yahovah does not change and tells us not to add to His word or take away from His word or we will be found a liar. He does not change, what He said from the beginning does not change for it stands "forever" it's that simple... It is His words that He says do not change and He does not change for He is Truth.
WHAT DOES YAHOVAH’S WORD SAY WHO HIS PEOPLE ARE ?
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 27:8 And you shall write all the Words of this Torah (Torah meaning instruction) on the stones – plainly and well. 9 And Mosheh (Moses) and the priests, the Lĕwites (Levites), spoke to all Yisra’ĕl, saying, “Be silent and hear, O Yisra’ĕl: This day you have become the people of יהוה (Yahovah) your Elohim (God), 10 and you shall obey the voice of יהוה (Yahovah) your Elohim, and do His commands and His laws (choq) which I command you today.”
1 Chronicles 17:19-22 “O יהוה, (Yahovah) for Your servant’s sake, and according to Your own heart, You have done all this greatness, in making known all these great matters. 20 “O יהוה, (Yahovah) there is none like You, nor is there any Elohim (God) besides You, according to all that we have heard with our ears. 21 “And who is like Your people Yisra’ĕl, the one nation on the earth whom Elohim (God) went to redeem for Himself as a people; to make for Yourself a great and awesome Name, by driving out nations from before Your people whom You redeemed from Mitsrayim (Egypt)? 22 “For You appointed Your people Yisra’ĕl to be Your own people forever. And You, יהוה, (Yahovah) have become their Elohim (God).
Please Note it say's in 1 Chronicles 17:21 "whom Elohim (God) redeemed for Himself as a people" for He appointed this people Yisra'el for His own people and it states in verse 17:22 “For You appointed Your people Yisra’ĕl to be Your own people forever (note: Strong’s H5769 ʻôwlâm everlasting, without end). And You, יהוה, (Yahovah) have become their Elohim (God).
Please note in 1 Chronicles 17:22 “For You appointed Your people Yisra’ĕl to be Your own people forever”
We see in 1 Chronicles 17 that the people of Elohim (God) are called Yisra'el and they are His own people that He redeemed for Himself a people “forever”, so based on scripture they are a people chosen by Him "יהוה, (Yahovah)" and a people for His name and this is to be forever ʻôwlâm everlasting, without end.
Kĕpha Aleph (1 Peter) 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a set-apart nation, a people for a possession, that you should proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light,10 who once were not a people, but now the people of Elohim (God); who had not obtained compassion, but now obtained compassion.
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 10:15 יהוה delighted only in your fathers, to love them. And He chose their seed after them, you above all peoples, as it is today.
Shemoth (Exodus) 7:6“For you are a set-apart people to יהוה your Elohim (God). יהוה your Elohim (God) has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a treasured possession above all the peoples on the face of the earth.
Titos (Titus) 2:13 looking for the blessed expectation and esteemed appearance of the great Elohim (God) and our Saviour יהושע Messiah,14 who gave Himself for us, to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for Himself a people, His own possession, ardent for good works.
Scripture says His people whom He redeemed, a people for His name sake and they are to be a light to the nations and they are called by one name “the children of Yisra’ĕl" they are His people. Scripture says multiple times "Your people Yisra’ĕl", I have listed listed 1 example. Note in Exodus 19:5 if they obey and do as He says then you shall be His people above all the peoples.
Shemoth (Exodus) 19:5-6 ‘And now, if you diligently obey My voice, and shall guard My covenant, then you shall be My treasured possession above all the peoples – for all the earth is Mine – 6 ‘and you shall be to Me a reign of priests and a set-apart nation.’ Those are the words which you are to speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl.”
Again
Kĕpha Aleph (1 Peter) 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a set-apart nation, a people for a possession, that you should proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light,10 who once were not a people, but now the people of Elohim (God); who had not obtained compassion, but now obtained compassion.
Romiyim (Romans) 9:25 As He says in Hoshĕa (Hosea) too, “I shall call them My people, who were not My people, and her beloved, who was not beloved.” 26 “And it shall be in the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not My people,’ there they shall be called sons of the living Elohim (God).” 27 And Yeshayahu (Isaiah) cries out on behalf of Yisra’ĕl, “Though the number of the children of Yisra’ĕl be as the sand of the sea, the remnant shall be saved.
So what has changed, why are His people called something else for example “christians”? is this because Jesus came and now His people have a new name? no where in scripture are the people of Yahovah to be called “christians” this is what they were called by others, “messianist” or followers of the Messiah. This leads to a question that has come to my mind and does it match what scripture says who His people are.
Many of the christian ways and traditions do not match with what the people the children of Yisrael of scripture were doing, the traditions and ways that we see in christianity are not of His people Yisrael. So why are christians not doing the things of the Elohim (the God) of Yisra'el if they are claiming to be His people, a people of the God that sent the Messiah or Christ, is it that they do not know that they are Yisra'el His people, do they believe the Messiah was sent for them? is it because when Jesus came Jesus made another way for a new people and to be called by a new name? and where is that in the Torah and prophets?
Amos 3:7 For the Master יהוה (Yahovah) does no matter unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.
Let’s remember the earlier verse I mentioned to keep in mind
Mattithyahu (Matthew)15:24 And He (Yeshua) answering, said, “I was not sent except (only) to the lost sheep of the house of Yisra’ĕl.”
Let's see what happened to Yahovah's people that He redeemed out of Egypt to be a people a nation for Him a treasured possession. I know there is a lot to it and thousands of years have passed but let’s see why the Messiah had to come and what did He say why He was coming.
Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 3:8 “And I saw that for all the causes for which backsliding Yisra’ĕl had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a certificate of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Yehuḏah did not fear, but went and committed whoring too.'
Here Yahovah gives the 10 tribes of Yisra’el a certificate of divorce for sinning against Him and forgetting His ways and following after other gods or whoring, so he divorced Yisra’el the 10 tribes because of the lawlessness or for not following His instructions or Torah or not following His ways.
Yoḥanan Aleph (1 John) 3:4 Everyone doing sin also does lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. (without Torah anomia)
Strongs: ἀνομία anomía, an-om-ee'-ah; G458 from G459; illegality, i.e. violation of law or (genitive case) wickedness:—iniquity, × transgress(-ion of) the law, unrighteousness.
We see in 1 John 3:4 sin is transgression of the Torah or the Law and that is against Yahovah the God of Yisra’ĕl (see again Jeremiah 3:8)
Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 3:8 “And I saw that for all the causes for which backsliding Yisra’ĕl had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a certificate of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Yehuḏah did not fear, but went and committed whoring too.
Because they were committing adultery with other god's and not turning back to Yahovah's given ways the instruction or Torah that they were suppose to follow, His ways are for them to live in righteousness set apart unto Him to be a light to all nations.
So Yahovah cast Yisrael out of the given promised land and the 10 Tribes of Israel never came back. They were given a sentence of exile and we see this in Ezekiel chapter 4 and this was for 390 years but that was multiplied by 7 based on the Torah cause they never turned back and repented and so they walked in enmity with Yahovah so it was multiplied by 7 that is according to the Torah the given instruction.
Wayyiqra (Leviticus) 26:18 ‘And after all this, if you do not obey Me, then I shall punish you seven times more for your sins.
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 28:45 “And all these curses shall come upon you, and they shall pursue and overtake you, until you are destroyed, because you did not obey the voice of יהוה your Elohim, to guard His commands and His laws which He commanded you. 46 “And they shall be upon you for a sign and for a wonder, and on your seed, forever.
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 28:64“And יהוה shall scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other, and there you shall serve other mighty ones, which neither you nor your fathers have known, wood and stone. 65 “And among those nations you are to find no rest, nor have a resting place for the sole of your foot. But there יהוה shall give you a trembling heart, and failing eyes, and sorrow of being. 66 “And your life shall be hanging in suspense before you, and you shall fear night and day, and not be certain of your life.
So they were exiled out of the promised land as stated in the Torah Deuteronomy chapter 28 the blessings and the curses. So what happened to them? they are in exile or in dispersion for many years since 722 BC in the surrounding area’s around the promised land and according to the verse in Deuteronomy from one end of the earth to the other they are exiled, we see in the letters written to the disbursed for example 1 Peter.
Kĕpha Aleph (1 Peter) 1:1 Kĕpha, an emissary of יהושע Messiah, to the chosen, strangers of the dispersion in Pontos, Galatia, Kappadokia, Asia, and Bithunia, 2 chosen according to the foreknowledge of Elohim the Father, set apart by the Spirit unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of יהושע Messiah: Favour (grace) and peace be increased to you.
Ya‛aqoḇ (James) 1:1 Ya‛aqoḇ, a servant of Elohim and of the Master יהושע Messiah, to the twelve tribes who are in the dispersion: Greetings.
In James we see that at the time the letter was written now all 12 tribes are in exile or in dispersion not just the 10 tribes of Yisra’ĕl. So we see that a people called Yisra’ĕl chosen to be a set apart people for the Name of Yahovah have been divorced due to sinning against Him and not following His ways, are cast out of the land and are in exile till this day, so as scripture promised consequence if they did not do as He asked the people, but they agreed to do as He asked of them and be His people and He be their God.
Now again let’s remember what Yeshua said when He came, this was recorded in Mathew.
Mattithyahu (Matthew)15:24 And He (Yeshua) answering, said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Yisra’ĕl.”
Mattithyahu (Matthew)10:5 יהושע (Yeshua) sent these twelve out, having commanded them, saying, “Do not go into the way of the nations (Gentiles), and do not enter a city of the Shomeronim (Samaritans), 6 but rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Yisra’ĕl. 7 “And as you go, proclaim, saying, ‘The reign of the heavens has drawn near.’ "The kingdom of God is at hand"
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 2:6 “But you, Bĕyth Leḥem, in the land of Yehuḏah, you are by no means least among the rulers of Yehuḏah, for out of you shall come a Ruler who shall shepherd My people Yisra’ĕl.’ ”
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 6:3-6 And you shall hear, O Yisra’ĕl, and shall guard to do, that it might be well with you, and that you increase greatly as יהוה (Yahovah) Elohim of your fathers has spoken to you, in a land flowing with milk and honey. 4 “Hear, O Yisra’ĕl: יהוה (Yahovah) our Elohim (God), יהוה (Yahovah) is one! 5 “And you shall love יהוה (Yahovah) your Elohim (God) with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your might. 6 And these Words which I am commanding you today shall be in your heart,
Marqos (Mark) 12:29-32 And יהושע (Yeshua) answered him, “The first of all the commands is, ‘Hear, O Yisra’ĕl, יהוה (Yahovah) our Elohim, יהוה (Yahovah) is one. 30 ‘And you shall love יהוה (Yahovah) your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your being, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first command. 31 And the second, like it, is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ (see Lev. 19:18) There is no other command greater than these. 32 And the scribe said to Him, “Well said, Teacher. You have spoken the truth (see Psalm 119:142), for there is one Elohim, and there is no other besides Him.
Yoḥanan (John) 14:21 “He who possesses (does) My commands and guards them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I shall love him and manifest Myself to him.”
Yoḥanan (John) 14:24 “He who does not love Me does not guard My Words. And the Word which you hear is not Mine but of the Father Who sent Me.
So with the above scriptures we see clearly in the Old and New testament scriptures that Yahova's people are clearly called by a certain name, and that name is "Yisra’ĕl", and His people are to hear and do as He instructs, to be set apart to live in righteousness (see Deuteronomy 6:24-25) to be a light to the Gentile's or Nations for Yahovah’s name. We also see that Yeshua has only come for the lost sheep of Yisra’ĕl (the 10 tribes Yisra’ĕl and later we see Judah gets exiled as well after 70AD. And Yisra’ĕl is Yahovah's people and Yeshua is Yahovah in the flesh He is the Word made flesh John 1:14, this is the people that Yahovah the God of "Yisra’ĕl" redeemed from Egypt and created a people for His Name to be glorified through to the nations (gentiles), Yeshua or Jesus came to redeem them from exile and bring them back into covenant with Himself. There is more to the mystery of the Gospel of the greatest love story ever written between a Groom being Yahovah and a Bride being Yisra’ĕl, This is found in Romans chapter 7 that Paul unveils but let’s just stick to the main theme of “Who Are We?” for now and look at that mystery found by Paul in a bit.
SO WHO ARE WE? A QUESTION FOR TODAY'S CHRISTIANS
Peter states in his letter to a people group "strangers or exiles" "scattered or dispersed" an "elect people" a people foreknown by the Father, and this people of His are called unto obedience.
Kĕpha Aleph (1 Peter) 1:1 an emissary (Apostle) of יהושע Messiah, to the chosen, strangers of the dispersion in Pontos, Galatia, Kappadokia, Asia, and Bithunia, 2 chosen according to the foreknowledge of Elohim the Father, set apart by the Spirit unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of יהושע Messiah: Favour (Grace) and peace be increased to you.
In the letter of 1 Peter, we see he is talking to "the strangers" that are "scattered throughout" the regions, and a chosen people "according to the Fathers knowledge" for unto obedience and the bringing back into covenant by the sprinkling of Yeshua Messiah’s blood. This is directed to the lost sheep of Yisra’ĕl that is why Yeshua came, to bring the good news to repent turn back to the Father Yahovah and by Yeshua's blood be redeemed, this would be the new the covenant with His people from long ago that they broke by forsaking Yahovah and His Torah (instructions given by the Father) and the forsaking of His ways caused sin and disobedience that lead Yisra’ĕl to be exiled out of the land. Below we see another scripture to a people clearly identified, Peter states what was said by the Father long ago to His people Yisra’ĕl (Israel).
Kĕpha Aleph (1 Peter) 1:13 Therefore, having girded up the loins of your mind, being sober, set your expectation perfectly upon the favour (grace) that is to be brought to you at the revelation of יהושע (Yeshua) Messiah, 14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts in your ignorance, 15 instead, as the One who called you is set-apart, so you also should become set-apart in all behaviour, 16 because it has been written, “Be set-apart, for I am set-apart.”
And in the below scripture in Leviticus to the same people Yahovah the Father says
Leviticus 11:44 ‘For I am יהוה (Yahovah) your Elohim, and you shall set yourselves apart. And you shall be set-apart, for I am set-apart. And do not defile yourselves with any swarming creature – the one creeping on the earth. 45 ‘For I am יהוה who is bringing you up out of the land of Mitsrayim (Eygpt), to be your Elohim. And you shall be set-apart, for I am set-apart.
The Father Yahovah the God of Yisra’ĕl sent His Son Yeshua to call the dispersed people Yisra’ĕl that are in exile back to Him. Yahovah the Father asked them to repent by way of Yeshua (ex, Mark 1:14-15) this is the Gospel or Good News the restoration of the Kingdom of Yahovah and then they can come back into covenant and be set apart to Him again. A people that were once the children of Yisra’ĕl and once set apart unto Him but they have been in exile due to their disobedience. He is allowing them to come back into a new covenant if they repent and then they can be cleansed by the sprinkling sacrifice of the blood of the Messiah, this allows them to come back to Him and the Father is then creating a new covenant a new man the same type of covenant as before and they can become again and be His set apart people and show their love to Him and become obedient to His ways by Torah (or instructions) as His Son was obedient out of love to the Father. The Father gave us an example His Son Yeshua Messiah! and He is calling them back to Him and back for obedience to the Father by way of the Son, this was spoken of long ago in the Torah by the words given by the Yahovah to Moshe (Moses) and then fulfilled in His Son Yeshua Messiah (Jesus Christ).
Deuteronomy 18:18-19 I shall raise up for them a Prophet like you out of the midst of their brothers. And I shall put My Words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him. 19 And it shall be, the man who does not listen to My Words which He speaks in My Name, I require it of him.
Ma`asei (Acts) 3:18 “But this is how Elohim (God) has filled what He had announced beforehand through the mouth of all the prophets, that His Messiah was to suffer.19 “Repent therefore and turn back, for the blotting out of your sins, in order that times of refreshing might come from the presence of the Master, 20 and that He sends יהושע (Yeshua) Messiah, pre-appointed for you, 21 whom heaven needs to receive until the times of restoration of all matters, of which Elohim spoke through the mouth of all His set-apart prophets since of old. 22 “For Mosheh (Moses) truly said to the fathers, ‘יהוה (Yahovah) your Elohim shall raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brothers. Him you shall hear according to all matters, whatever He says to you. 23 'And it shall be that every being who does not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’ (again see Deut 18:18)
Ma`asei (Acts) 7:37 “This is the Mosheh (Moses) who said to the children of Yisra’ĕl (Israel), ‘יהוה (Yahovah) your Elohim shall raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brothers. Him you shall hear.’
The Father has always asked His people Israel to listen and to hear and obey (Teshuva), and has always sent the same message "repent turn back to Him and His ways" and has always from the beginning sent His people by way of His servants the prophet's to tell them Yisra’ĕl to turn back.
Notice that Peter is quoting out of the Torah and recalling the same message from long ago in Leviticus for instruction for us to be as the Father is, for He is “holy, or the set apart one" the same message that He gave the people Yisrael when they received the Torah. So again we see it is the same people "Yisrael" He is calling back to him with the same message from long ago (see 1 John 2:7) to all that hear and obey, turn back to Him and be obedient to His ways as His Son was pleasing in His sight and be as Yeshua was holy, set apart as He and His Son are set apart.
1 Yoḥanan (John) 2:7 Beloved, I write no fresh command to you, but an old command which you have had from the beginning. The old command is the Word which you heard from the beginning.
1 Kĕpha Aleph 1:22 Now that you have cleansed your lives in obeying the truth (see below Psalm 19:7, 119:142) through the Spirit to unfeigned brotherly love, love one another (see below1 John 5:2-4) fervently with a clean heart, 23 having been born again – not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible – through the living Word of Elohim (see below John 17:17), which remains forever,
Tehillim (Psalms) 19:7 The Torah of יהוה Yahovah is perfect, bringing back the being (soul); The witness of יהוה Yahovah is trustworthy, making wise the simple;
So we are to purify ourselves by obeying the truth? what does the word of Yahovah say what truth is? Psalm 119:142 tells us what truth is.
Tehillim (Psalms) 119:142 Your righteousness is righteousness forever, And Your Torah is truth.
Yoḥanan (John) 17:17 17 “Set them apart in Your truth – Your Word is truth”.
1 Yoḥanan (John) 5:2-4 By this we know that we love the children of Elohim, when we love Elohim and guard His commands. 3 For this is the love for Elohim, that we guard His commands, and His commands are not heavy, 4 because everyone having been born of Elohim overcomes the world. And this is the overcoming that has overcome the world: our belief. (See 1 John 5:2; 2 John 1:6 and John 14:15)
2 Yoḥanan (John) 1:6 And this is the love, that we walk according to His commands. This is the command, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.
Yoḥanan (John) 1:14 And the Word (Torah) became flesh and pitched His tent among us, and we saw His esteem, esteem as of an only brought-forth of a father, complete in favour and truth (Torah).
1 Peter 1:24 because “All flesh is as grass, and all the esteem of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, and its flower falls away, 25 but the Word of Elohim remains forever. And this is the Word, announced as Good News to you.
Yeshayah (Isaiah) 40:6 The voice said, “Cry out!” and he said, “What do I cry?” “All flesh is grass, and all its loving-commitment is like the flower of the field. 7 “Grass shall wither, the flower shall fade, when the Spirit of יהוה has blown on it! Truly the people is grass! 8 “Grass shall wither, the flower shall fade, but the Word of our Elohim stands forever.”
The word is truth, the truth is Torah, and the Torah is perfect and stands forever as stated in scriptures above. So the word is forever and we know that Yeshua (Jesus) is the word made flesh (see John 1:14), He is truth, He is the walking Torah, He walked out the Torah, sinless and as a example for us to follow, and He tells us to follow Him. We see we are to be obedient to Him (John 3:36) and this is faith or belief, He is the truth (see John 14:6), we are to be sanctified by the word or by the Torah for the Torah is truth (see John 17:17, Psalms 119:142).
When Yeshua came into Galilee that is what He was preaching "The Gospel of The Kingdom of God" (see Mark 1:14-15) to the people who are exiled that is the people “the children of Yisrael” and all that hear "repent and obey" and this was the message, listen repent turn back to the Father and His ways, for the kingdom of God is at hand.
If we believe the Son and His words and do as He says, to follow Him as He did what pleased the Father as the Father had instructed Yeshua to do, we then do the same and are showing our faith and loving Him back by being obedient, by this we know that we are of Him, when we keep His commands and listen in obedience to His Son and the Fathers ways, then by faith and obedience to His ways and His Torah or instructions we are showing that we are His children that love Him, and then if we stumble we have His favor (grace) if we confess our sins.
But we don't ignore what the Son came to show us how to walk in obedience, we do as He did and walk as He walked, but we have been taught a different gospel and a different path of man’s righteousness not the righteousness of the Father and Yeshua's ways given for His people Yisrael.
Note when the verse below was written there was only the Torah the prophets and the writings of Yisrael, no New testament letters were given.
Timotiyos Aleph (1 Timothy) 3:16 All Scripture is breathed out by Elohim and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for setting straight, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of Elohim might be fitted, equipped for every good work.
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 6 24 And יהוה commanded us to do all these laws, to fear יהוה our Elohim, for our good always, to keep us alive, as it is today. 25 And it is righteousness for us when we guard to do all this command before יהוה our Elohim, as He has commanded us.’
Marqos (Mark) 1:14 And after Yoḥanan was delivered up, יהושע came to Galil, proclaiming the Good News of the reign of Elohim, 15 and saying, “The time has been filled, and the reign of Elohim has come near. Repent, and believe in the Good News.”
Repent means to turn back, the Hebrew word Teshuvah (Strong’s H8666 meaning “answer, return”), which derives from the common Hebrew verb shuv (Strong’s H7725) meaning “to turn back, to return, come or go back, restore, refresh, repair, bring back, reverse.”
Yeshua is telling the people to repent, turn back, turn back to what? what are we to turn back to? I will give one example of the asking of repentance for His people Yisrael, we see this above in Deuteronomy 6:24-25 what we are to do is follow His commands this is good for us.
Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 6:16-19 Thus said יהוה, “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; and find rest for yourselves. But they said, ‘We do not walk in it.’ 17 “And I raised up watchmen over you, and said, ‘Listen to a voice of a shophar!’ But they said, ‘We do not listen.’
18 “Therefore hear, you nations, and know, O congregation, what is upon them! 19 “Hear, O earth! See, I am bringing evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not listened to My words, nor My Torah – and they rejected it.
We are to repent, turn back to the the ways of old that we’re given from the beginning, the word of old that brings peace and rest for our being is in His ways not ours, not the ways of mans religious traditions we see created in christianity and so many other religions.
1 Yoḥanan (John) 2:7 Beloved, I write no fresh command to you, but an old command which you have had from the beginning. The old command is the Word which you heard from the beginning.
Yoḥanan (John) 14:21 “He who possesses My commands and guards them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I shall love him and manifest Myself to him.”
Tehillim (Psalms) 19:7 The Torah of יהוה Yahovah is perfect, bringing back the being (soul); The witness of יהוה Yahovah is trustworthy, making wise the simple;
Yoḥanan (John) 14:23 יהושע answered him, “If anyone loves Me, he shall guard My Word. And My Father shall love him, and We shall come to him and make Our stay with him. 24 “He who does not love Me does not guard My Words. And the Word which you hear is not Mine but of the Father Who sent Me. 25 “These Words I have spoken to you while still with you.
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 11:25 At that time יהושע responding, said, “I thank You, Father, Master of the heavens and earth, because You have hidden these matters from clever and learned ones and have revealed them to babes. 26 “Yes, Father, because so it was well-pleasing in Your sight. 27 “All have been handed over to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and he to whom the Son wishes to reveal Him.
DESCRIPTIONS OF YAHOVAH'S PEOPLE
Yahovah is calling his people "Israel" back to him in obedience through his Son Yeshua Messiah that are dispersed (exiled) amongst the surrounding regions among the Gentiles. They are referred by many names, can we find and apply these descriptions to a people once called by the same names long ago.
Kĕpha Aleph (1 Peter) 2:5 you also, as living stones, are being built up, a spiritual house, a set-apart priesthood, to offer up spiritual slaughter offerings acceptable to Elohim through יהושע Messiah.
Kĕpha Aleph (1 Peter) 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood,a set-apart nation, a people for a possession, that you should proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvellous light,
So His people Yisra’ĕl are called a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people, a people for his own possession, now the people of God. Where in scripture can we see these terms used and to what people do they applied to?
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 14:2 for you are a set-apart people to יהוה your Elohim, and יהוה has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a treasured possession above all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 26:16-19 “Today יהוה your Elohim is commanding you to do these laws and right-rulings. And you shall guard and do them with all your heart and with all your being. 17 “You have today caused יהוה to proclaim to be your Elohim, and to walk in His ways and guard His laws, and His commands, and His right-rulings, and to obey His voice. 18 “And יהוה has caused you to proclaim today to be His people, a treasured possession, as He has spoken to you, and to guard all His commands, 19 “so as to set you high above all nations which He has made, for a praise, and for a name, and for esteem, and for you to be a set-apart people to יהוה your Elohim, as He has spoken.
Yeshayah (Isaiah) 1:4 Alas, sinning nation, a people loaded with crookedness, a seed of evil-doers, sons acting corruptly! They have forsaken יהוה, they have provoked the Set-apart One of Yisra’ĕl, they went backward.
Titos (Titus) 2 13-14 looking for the blessed expectation and esteemed appearance of the great Elohim and our Saviour יהושע Messiah, 14 who gave Himself for us, to redeem us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for Himself a people, his own possession, ardent for good works.
Yahovah is the God of the people "Yisra’ĕl", it is His people "Yisra’ĕl" He is calling back to Him and He will be their God and they will be His people "Yisra’ĕl". We are grafted into the people Yisra’ĕl by way of Yeshua Messiah, we were once a people not of God, now a citizen of His people Yisra’ĕl. Moses is told to say to the people "These are the words which you shalt speak unto the children of Israel." All the scriptures above are for His people Yisra’ĕl and this is the people group we are grafted into, the people that He chose from long ago out of Egypt. He chose them and they were least among the nations. So with that being said we must listen and obey and out of the faith of what He asks of His people, just as they "Yisra’ĕl" were asked of long ago nothing has changed and we are called back into obedience through faith in Yeshua Messiah back into a covenant to do the will of the Father. Here we see that at one time we once were a people who were separated from the promise of the Messiah that was prophetically given to the people Yisra’ĕl. Yisra’ĕl was divorced by Yahovah for there sin (see Jeremiah 3:8) and then were taken into exile by the Assyrians, then scattered amongst the nations as we are today, when Yeshua came He stated He had one purpose and that is to find the lost sheep of the house of the people Yisra’ĕl. Yeshua said in regards to the lost tribes of the house of Yisra’ĕl, see verse below His words
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 15:24 “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Yisra’ĕl”
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 10:6 but rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Yisra’ĕl. 7 “And as you go, proclaim, saying, ‘The reign of the heavens has drawn near.’
Eph`siyim (Ephesians) 2:1-21 And you were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once lived in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, as also the rest. 4 But Elohim, who is rich in compassion, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Messiah – by favour you have been saved – 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenlies in Messiah יהושע ,7 in order to show in the coming ages the exceeding riches of His favour in kindness toward us in Messiah יהושע .8 For by favour you have been saved, through belief, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of Elohim, 9 it is not by works, so that no one should boast.10 For we are His workmanship, created in Messiah יהושע unto good works, which Elohim prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. 11 Therefore remember that you, once nations in the flesh, who are called ‘the uncircumcision’ by what is called ‘the circumcision’ made in the flesh by hands, 12 that at that time you were without Messiah, excluded from the citizenship of Yisra’ĕl and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no expectation and without Elohim in the world. 13 But now in Messiah יהושע you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of the Messiah. 14 For He is our peace, who has made both one, and having broken down the partition of the barrier, 15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity – the torah of the commands in dogma (mens Traditions) – so as to create in Himself one renewed man from the two, thus making peace, 16 and to completely restore to favour both of them unto Elohim in one body through the stake, having destroyed the enmity by it. 17 And having come, He brought as Good News peace to you who were far off, and peace to those near. 18 Because through Him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. 19 So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens of the set-apart ones and members of the household of Elohim, having been built upon the foundation of the emissaries and prophets, יהושע Messiah Himself being chief corner-stone, 21 in whom all the building, being joined together, grows into a set-apart Dwelling Place in יהוה,
Yeshayah (Isaiah) 57:18-19 “I have seen his ways, but now I heal him, and I lead him, and restore comforts to him and to his mourners, 19 creating the fruit of the lips: peace, peace to him who is far off and to him who is near,” said יהוה, “and I shall heal him.”
Romiyim (Romans) 11:17 And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, have been grafted in among them, and came to share the root and fatness of the olive tree,
Yeshayah (Isaiah) 14:1 Because יהוה has compassion on Ya‛aqoḇ, and shall again choose Yisra’ĕl, and give them rest in their own land. And the strangers shall join them, and they shall cling to the house of Ya‛aqoḇ.
Eph`siyim (Ephesians) 2:5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Messiah – by favour you have been saved
We are made alive in Messiah, grafted into the people Yisra’ĕl, this is the people who guard and do the commands of Yahovah, also see in Ephesians Chapter 2 there is a people alienated from a commonwealth of a certain people, this kept us from being allowed to be a citizen of a certain people or community, that certain people or community being His people Yisra’ĕl, and being free within that people to behave as they are suppose to behave, to have access to the same knowledge that they have been given by the only true living God, the God of His people Yisra’ĕl, the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob.
Please see strong definition of commonwealth (strongs 4174 greek word politeia, from strongs 4177 greek word “polity”meaning citizenship concerning a community: - commonwealth , freedom) from strongs 4177 greek word “polity” (to behave as a citizen).
Separated from knowledge of promises of a people group, alienated from a certain community and without the meaning of being a citizen of that community, kept from no knowledge of of Israel, not having the covenants of promise of a certain people group Israel who had a promise and covenant with God.
What people group did have these promises that we are now a part of, once strangers, once without promise of God, once not a people, once alienated, once not a holy priesthood, once without mercy, once without the ability to offer spiritual sacrifice’s, once a people of the “NATION’S” or gentile's. Yisrael was cast far off for there sins and the Father divorced them.
Zeḵaryah (Zechariah) 6:15 “And those who are far away shall come and build the Hĕḵal of יהוה. And you shall know that יהוה of hosts has sent Me to you. And this shall be, if you diligently obey the voice of יהוה your Elohim.”
Ma`asei (Acts) 2:38 And Kĕpha (Peter) said to them, “Repent, and let each one of you be immersed in the Name of יהושע (Yeshua) Messiah for the forgiveness of sins. And you shall receive the gift of the Set-apart Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are far off, as many as יהוה (Yahovah) our Elohim shall call.
Ma`asei (Acts) 3:26 “To you first, Elohim, having raised up His Servant יהושע (Yeshua) Messiah, sent Him to bless you, in turning away each one of you from your wicked ways.”
Ma`asei (Acts) 3:19“Repent therefore and turn back, for the blotting out of your sins, in order that times of refreshing might come from the presence of the Master, 20 and that He sends יהושע (Yeshua) Messiah, pre-appointed for you, 21 whom heaven needs to receive until the times of restoration of all matters, of which Elohim spoke through the mouth of all His set-apart prophets since of old.
Eph`siyim (Ephesians) 4:4 one body and one Spirit, as you also were called in one expectation (one Hope) of your calling,
Eph`siyim (Ephesians) 5:23 Because the husband is head of the wife, as also the Messiah (Christ) is head of the assembly, and He is Saviour of the body.
So if the word of Yahovah the God of Yisra’ĕl says, we are to be one body and Christ to be the head of the body of the believers, then what one body or one people group are we called to be? and most important what does Yahovah our God's word say what we are called?
FINAL THOUGHTS FOR HIS PEOPLE Yisra’ĕl “SO WHO WE ARE!"
Deuteronomy 30:1-5 “And it shall be, when all these words come upon you, the blessing and the curse which I have set before you, and you shall bring them back to your heart among all the nations where יהוה (Yahovah) your Elohim drives you, 2 and shall turn back to יהוה (Yahovah) your Elohim and obey His voice, according to all that I command you today, with all your heart and with all your being, you and your children, 3 then יהוה (Yahovah) your Elohim shall turn back your captivity, and shall have compassion on you, and He shall turn back and gather you from all the peoples where יהוה (Yahovah) your Elohim has scattered you. 4 “If any of you are driven out to the farthest parts under the heavens, from there יהוה (Yahovah) your Elohim does gather you, and from there He does take you. 5 “And יהוה (Yahovah) your Elohim shall bring you to the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it. And He shall do good to you, and increase you more than your fathers.
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 10:15 יהוה (Yahovah) delighted only in your fathers, to love them. And He chose their seed after them, you above all peoples, as it is today.
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 7:6-9 “For you are a set-apart people to יהוה (Yahovah) your Elohim. יהוה (Yahovah) your Elohim has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a treasured possession above all the peoples on the face of the earth. 7 “יהוה (Yahovah) did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more numerous than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples, 8 but because of יהוה (Yahovah) loving you, and because of Him guarding the oath which He swore to your fathers, יהוה (Yahovah) has brought you out with a strong hand, and ransomed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh sovereign of Mitsrayim. 9 And you shall know that יהוה (Yahovah) your Elohim, He is Elohim, the trustworthy Ěl guarding covenant and loving-commitment for a thousand generations with those who love Him, and those who guard His commands,”
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 14:2 for you are a set-apart people to יהוה (Yahovah) your Elohim, and יהוה (Yahovah) has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a treasured possession above all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 26:18 “And יהוה (Yahovah) has caused you to proclaim today to be His people, a treasured possession, as He has spoken to you, and to guard all His commands, 19 “so as to set you high above all nations which He has made, for a praise, and for a name, and for esteem, and for you to be a set-apart people to יהוה (Yahovah) your Elohim (God), as He has spoken.
Tehillim (Psalms) 135:1 Praise Yah! Praise the Name of יהוה (Yahovah); Praise, you servants of יהוה ,2 (Yahovah) Who are standing in the House of יהוה (Yahovah), In the courts of the House of our Elohim (God), 3 Praise Yah, for יהוה is good; Sing praises to His Name, for it is pleasant. 4 For Yah has chosen Ya‛aqoḇ for Himself, Yisra’ĕl for His treasured possession.
Amos 3:1 Hear this word that יהוה (Yahovah) has spoken against you, O children of Yisra’ĕl, against the entire clan which I brought up from the land of Mitsrayim, saying, “You alone have I known of all the clans of the earth, therefore I punish you for all your crookednesses.”
Amos 9:7-15 “Are you not like the people of Kush to Me, O children of Yisra’ĕl?” declares יהוה (Yahovah). “Did I not bring up Yisra’ĕl from the land of Mitsrayim, and the Philistines from Kaphtor, and Aram from Qir? 8 “Look, the eyes of the Master יהוה (Yahovah) are on the sinful reign, and I shall destroy it from the face of the earth, except that, I do not completely destroy the house of Ya‛aqoḇ,” declares יהוה .9“For look, I am commanding, and I shall sift the house of Yisra’ĕl among all the nations, as one sifts with a sieve, yet not a grain falls to the ground. 10 “All the sinners of My people are going to die by the sword, those who are saying, ‘Evil does not overtake us nor meet us.’ 11 “In that day I shall raise up the Booth of Dawiḏ which has fallen down. And I shall repair its breaches and raise up its ruins. And I shall build it as in the days of old, 12 so that they possess the remnant of Adam, and all the nations on whom My Name is called,” declares יהוה who does this.13 “Look, the days are coming,” declares יהוה, “that the ploughman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who sows seed. And the mountains shall drip new wine, and all the hills melt. 14 “And I shall turn back the captivity of My people Yisra’ĕl. And they shall build the waste cities and inhabit them. And they shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them, and shall make gardens and eat their fruit. 15 “And I shall plant them on their own soil, and not uproot them any more from their own soil I have given them,” said יהוה your Elohim (God)!
Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 31:1-11 “At that time,” declares יהוה, “I shall be the Elohim of all the clans of Yisra’ĕl, and they shall be My people.” 2 Thus said יהוה, “A people escaped from the sword found favour in the wilderness, Yisra’ĕl, when it went to find rest.” 3 יהוה appeared to me from afar, saying, “I have loved you with an everlasting love, therefore I shall draw you with loving-commitment. 4 “I am going to build you again. And you shall be rebuilt, O maiden of Yisra’ĕl! Again you shall take up your tambourines, and go forth in the dances of those who rejoice. 5 “Again you shall plant vines on the mountains of Shomeron. The planters shall plant and treat them as common. 6 “For there shall be a day when the watchmen cry on Mount Ephrayim, ‘Arise, and let us go up to Tsiyon, to יהוה our Elohim.’ ” 7 For thus said יהוה, “Sing with gladness for Ya‛aqoḇ, and shout among the chief of the nations. Cry out, give praise, and say, ‘O יהוה, save Your people, the remnant of Yisra’ĕl!’ 8 “See, I am bringing them from the land of the north, and shall gather them from the ends of the earth, among them the blind and the lame, those with child and those in labour, together – a great assembly returning here. 9 “With weeping they shall come, and with their prayers I bring them. I shall make them walk by rivers of waters, in a straight way in which they do not stumble. For I shall be a Father to Yisra’ĕl, and Ephrayim – he is My first-born. 10 “Hear the word of יהוה, O nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, ‘He who scattered Yisra’ĕl gathers him, and shall guard him as a shepherd his flock.’ 11 “For יהוה shall ransom Ya‛aqoḇ, and redeem him from the hand of one stronger than he.
Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 31:12-25 “And they shall come in and shall sing on the height of Tsiyon, and stream to the goodness of יהוה, for grain and for new wine and for oil, and for the young of the flock and the herd. And their being shall be like a well-watered garden, and never languish again. 13 “Then shall a maiden rejoice in a dance, and young men and old, together. And I shall turn their mourning to joy, and shall comfort them, and shall make them rejoice from their sorrow, 14 and shall fill the being of the priests with fatness. And My people shall be satisfied with My goodness,” declares יהוה.15 Thus said יהוה, “A voice was heard in Ramah, wailing, bitter weeping, Raḥĕl weeping for her children, refusing to be comforted for her children, because they are no more.” 16 Thus said יהוה, “Hold back your voice from weeping, and your eyes from tears, for there is a reward for your work,” declares יהוה, “and they shall return from the land of the enemy. 17 “And there is expectancy for your latter end,” declares יהוה, “and your children shall return to their own country. 18 “I have clearly heard Ephrayim lamenting, ‘You have chastised me, and I was chastised, like an untrained calf. Turn me back, and I shall turn back, for You are יהוה my Elohim. 19 For after my turning back, I repented. And after I was instructed, I struck myself on the thigh. I was ashamed, even humiliated, for I bore the reproach of my youth.’ 20 “Is Ephrayim a precious son to Me, a child of delights? For though I spoke against him, I still remembered him. That is why My affections were deeply moved for him. I have great compassion for him,” declares יהוה .21“Set up signposts, make landmarks; set your heart toward the highway, the way in which you went. Turn back, O maiden of Yisra’ĕl, turn back to these cities of yours! 22 “Till when would you turn here and there, O backsliding daughter? For יהוה has created what is new on earth: a woman encompasses a man!” 23 Thus said יהוה of hosts, the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl, “Let them once again say this word in the land of Yehuḏah and in its cities, when I turn back their captivity, ‘יהוה bless you, O home of righteousness, mountain of set-apartness!’ 24 “And in Yehuḏah and all its cities farmers and those who journey with flocks, shall dwell together. 25 “For I shall fill the weary being, and I shall replenish every grieved being.”
Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 31:26-37 At this I awoke and looked around, and my sleep was sweet to me. 27 “See, the days are coming,” declares יהוה, “that I shall sow the house of Yisra’ĕl and the house of Yehuḏah with the seed of man and the seed of beast. 28 “And it shall be, that as I have watched over them to pluck up, and to break down, and to throw down, and to destroy, and to afflict, so I shall watch over them to build and to plant,” declares יהוה. 29“In those days they shall no longer say, ‘The fathers ate sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are blunted.’ 30 “But each one shall die for his own crookedness – whoever eats sour grapes, his teeth shall be blunted. 31 “See, the days are coming,” declares יהוה, “when I shall make a renewed covenant with the house of Yisra’ĕl and with the house of Yehuḏah, 32 not like the covenant I made with their fathers in the day when I strengthened their hand to bring them out of the land of Mitsrayim, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them,” declares יהוה. 33“For this is the covenant I shall make with the house of Yisra’ĕl after those days, declares יהוה: I shall put My Torah in their inward parts, and write it on their hearts. And I shall be their Elohim, and they shall be My people. 34 “And no longer shall they teach, each one his neighbour, and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know יהוה,’ for they shall all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,” declares יהוה. “For I shall forgive their crookedness, and remember their sin no more.” 35 Thus said יהוה, who gives the sun for a light by day, and the laws of the moon and the stars for a light by night, who stirs up the sea, and its waves roar – יהוה of hosts is His Name: 36 “If these laws vanish from before Me,” declares יהוה, “then the seed of Yisra’ĕl shall also cease from being a nation before Me forever.” 37 Thus said יהוה, “If the heavens above could be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I would also cast off all the seed of Yisra’ĕl for all that they have done,” declares
Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 31:38-40 יהוה “See, the days are coming,” declares יהוה, “that the city shall be built for יהוה from the Tower of Ḥanan’ĕl to the Corner Gate. 39 “And the measuring line shall again extend straight ahead to the hill Garĕḇ, then it shall turn toward Go‛ah. 40 “And all the valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields as far as the wadi Qiḏron, to the corner of the Horse Gate toward the east, is to be set-apart to יהוה. It shall not be plucked up or thrown down any more forever.”
CONCLUSION
We see in His scripture or from His word that His people are called Yisra’ĕl, they are His firstborn, a people He redeemed for His name sake, made to be His treasured possession, to be a light to the nations on the earth to reveal Yahovah character by way of there living out His commands and righteousness. The scriptures show how His people have been given instruction or His Torah and asked by Him to follow His Torah (instructions) and they would be His people or not follow His Torah and they would be then astray from His ways. Yisrael was disobedient and did not follow His ways and instruction they followed after other gods and forsake His Torah, we saw in Jeremiah that He divorced Yisrael His people and they went into exile to this day. But His promise is that He would rebuild them and bring them back into the land and they would become His people and He would be there God and dwell with them forever, but how could this be? if they were divorced from Yahovah (see Jeremiah 3:8) He has to follow His own instruction given in the Torah
Deḇarim (Deuteronomy) 24:1-4 When a man takes a wife and shall marry her, then it shall be, if she finds no favour in his eyes because he has found a matter of uncoveredness in her, and he shall write her a certificate of divorce, and put it in her hand, and send her out of his house, 2 and if she left his house and went and became another man’s wife, 3 and the latter husband shall hate her and write her a certificate of divorce, and put it in her hand, and send her out of his house, or when the latter husband dies who took her to be his wife, 4 then her former husband who sent her away is not allowed to take her back to be his wife after she has been defiled, for that would be an abomination before יהוה. And do not bring sin on the land which יהוה your Elohim is giving you as an inheritance.
So Yahovah divorced Yisrael the people, because of their sin against Him by whoring with other gods and forsaking His ways for other gods and tradition of other nations and people’s. So how can He remarry Yisrael again? How can He take her back as He has promised to do so in the end of the age when He returns? according to Deuteronomy 24 the only way that man is free of the law in the Torah of divorce is (Deuteronomy 24:3 when the latter husband dies who took her to be his wife) She Yisrael is free from the law of divorce from her former Husband when the Husband dies now she is free to marry another. So when He Yeshua returns, she the people group Yisrael who are doing the ways of Yahovah can marry Yeshua the risen savior. This is His way of redeeming His people and making a way back into covenant with Him, He came and died for them His bride that is why He Yeshua said that He was only sent for the lost sheep of Yisrael.
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 15:24 And He (Yeshua) answering, said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Yisra’ĕl.”
Paul figured this mystery out in Romans chapter 7 he writes the scriptures below explains the Torah instruction of divorce and how it works with Yeshua having come and died releases Yisrael to marry another, that being Yeshau when He returns for His bride that being His people who are doing His ways and following His words that being us as we hope this to come.
Romiyim (Romans) 7:1 Or do you not know, brothers – for I speak to those knowing the Torah – that the Torah rules over a man as long as he lives? 2 For the married woman has been bound by Torah to the living husband, but if the husband dies, she is released from the Torah concerning her husband. 3 So then, while her husband lives, she shall be called an adulteress if she becomes another man’s. But if her husband dies, she is free from that part of the Torah, so that she is not an adulteress, having become another man’s. 4 So my brothers, you also were put to death to the Torah through the body of Messiah, for you to become another’s, the One who was raised from the dead, that we should bear fruit to Elohim. 5 For when we were in the flesh, the passions of sins, through the Torah, were working in our members to bear fruit to death. 6 But now we have been released from the Torah (released from the law in the Torah of marriage and now free to marry another), having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in newness of Spirit and not in oldness of letter.
There are many people who do the many traditions created by men and do not follow Yeshua Messiah and the ways of Him given by His Father Yahovah, they follow another named Jesus Christ who does not have the same ways as Yeshua in scripture. The ways of the christian church’s are not of scripture but have many doctrines and teachings of aother created savior by twisting the scripture and creating a Jesus that saves and holds promises that do not and will not come to pass.
The teaching’s and the traditions of this many people are not of the Father Yahovah and Yeshua, they are not called back to the ways of the Father of Yeshua as stated in scriptures shown in this writing, by these teachings of men and false doctrines of the many denominations in christianity and other religions, they are what lead astray a people seeking to know Yahovah the creator. Much like the children of Yisrael were lead away from Yahovah when they went after other gods and ways of the people of the nations or of the gentiles they were amongst.
Yeshua came and sacrificed Himself for us, gave us HIs words we see in (Mark 1:14-15 REPENT turn back), repent and come back into covenant with Him by way of His blood and to be obedient out of love for Him and His ways with belief and faith leading us to obedience unto do His ways (see John 3:36).
Kĕpha Aleph (1 Peter) 1:1-4 Kĕpha (Peter), an emissary of יהושע Messiah, to the chosen, strangers of the dispersion in Pontos, Galatia, Kappadokia, Asia, and Bithunia, 2 chosen according to the foreknowledge of Elohim the Father, set apart by the Spirit unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of יהושע Messiah: Favour and peace be increased to you. 3 Blessed be the Elohim and Father of our Master יהושע Messiah, who according to His great compassion has caused us to be born again to a living expectation through the resurrection of יהושע Messiah from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and unfading, having been kept in the heavens for you,
So we seen scripture that there is a people redeemed for Yahovah, they are called to follow the ways of Yahovah, this people group is called in scripture Yisrael, this is the people who are in covenant and it is by following His ways out of love for Him, and those ways being what was given to His people that is the Torah or instructions, this is how we are to love our God by doing what He asked us to do this is how we are set apart (holy)unto Him and from the Nations on earth.
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 18:11 “For the Son of Aḏam has come to save what was lost.
Mattithyahu (Matthew) 15:24 And He (Yeshua) answering, said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Yisra’ĕl.”
Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 10:16 The Portion of Ya‛aqoḇ is not like these, for He (Yahovah) is the Maker of all, and Yisra’ĕl is the tribe of His (Yahovah’s) inheritance – יהוה (Yahovah’s) of hosts is His Name.
Yoḥanan (John) 3:36 He who believes in the Son possesses everlasting life, but he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of Elohim remains on him.
PROPHETIC WORDS OF YAHOVAH BY WAY OF ISAIAH
Yeshayah (Isaiah) 1:3 For I pour water on the thirsty, and floods on the dry ground. I pour My Spirit on your seed, and My blessing on your offspring, 4 and they shall spring up among the grass like willows by streams of water.’ 5 “One says, ‘I belong to יהוה (Yahovah); another calls himself by the name of Ya‛aqoḇ; another writes with his hand, ‘Unto יהוה (Yahovah),’ and names himself by the name of Yisra’ĕl. 6 “Thus said יהוה (Yahovah), Sovereign of Yisra’ĕl, and his Redeemer, יהוה (Yahovah) of hosts, ‘I am the First and I am the Last, besides Me there is no Elohim (God).
Regardless of what religion many people claim to be apart of, people are blinded by man made traditions of the churches and religions established in the world, if we continue to refer to Yahovah’s people as Christian’s or any other titles then we loose sight of what scripture says and are blinded by the traditions and divisions of men and their ways and the titles given by men. When we come to see in scripture that His people are referred to as the “Children of Yisra’ĕl” then we see another story in scripture about a people that have been cast away from Him due too their sin but are grafted back into His favor (grace) by way of Yeshua Messiah, given a new covenant to be back with Him by Yeshua’s blood sacrafice. They were called long ago at Mount Sanai, a people redeemed from bondage and they have been given a name Yisra’ĕl. Those people are His people the ones who love His ways and walk in His ways as His Son walked out His commands and became a light to the Nations for His name sake. To call back His people Yisra’ĕl to repentance to turn back to the Creators ways.
FINAL THOUGHTS FROM SCRIPTURE WHO HIS PEOPLE ARE FOREVER
THIS APPLIES TO YOU IF YOU BELIEVE AND OBEY THE SON
1 Chronicles 17:19-22 “O יהוה, (Yahovah) for Your servant’s sake, and according to Your own heart, You have done all this greatness, in making known all these great matters. 20 “O יהוה, (Yahovah) there is none like You, nor is there any Elohim (God) besides You, according to all that we have heard with our ears. 21 “And who is like Your people Yisra’ĕl, the one nation on the earth whom Elohim went to redeem for Himself as a people; to make for Yourself a great and awesome Name, by driving out nations from before Your people whom You redeemed from Mitsrayim (Egypt)? 22 “For You appointed Your people Yisra’ĕl to be Your own people forever. And You, יהוה, (Yahovah) have become their Elohim (God).
Ma`asei (Acts) 24:14“And this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the Elohim of my fathers, believing all that has been written in the Torah and in the Prophets,
We are a Sabbath observant congregation. We are also Torah observant and believe that the teaching and instruction (Torah) of God is His manual to living in His blessing. We are scripturally based, holding the Bible to be the ultimate source of truth. We follow Jesus Christ (Yeshua the Messiah) our Saviour, knowing that whoever keeps His word, in him, truly the love of God is perfected. Demonstrating our faith through obedience to God’s word believing everything laid down in the Torah and prophets; we believe that the commandments are a guardrail to protect us, not a fence to restrict us. We do not teach that we follow Torah FOR salvation; we follow it BECAUSE OF our salvation and faith in its Author.
